  1. We believe that most people place more importance in materialistic things then they do for humanity. One example would be Black Friday, where once a year people are willing to kill each other for the best deals. People would rather have neat stuff then do the right thing.

  3. I believe that people put great importance on their materialistic things, but I think that they are merely blinded by these things. In their hearts I think everybody puts humanity in front if materialistic things. Humans have a natural sense of joy after getting something new and enjoyable. It's human nature but it's temporary, opposed to humanity.

  4. People tend to place more importance on the thing that benefits them the most. In many cases that is materialistic stuff. Materialism determines ones status in society, wellbeing and ultimately provides comfort in life. However when one could use humanity to benefit them or to raise their status they take advantage of pathos. For example, big companies often donate to charities to bring in more costumers while other people use the deaths of loved ones to draw in sympathy and play the system.

  5. People tend to place more importance on materialistic things rather than humanity. For example, people will spend their money on buying really expensive things rather than giving the money to people who are more in need of it. The only person we can think of of the top of our heads who did not do this was Chris McCandless from Into the Wild.

  6. People these days care more about materials than humanity. kids with their phones care so much more about their phones rater than the people around them and they just dont genraly care.

  7. There's more of an importance on materialistic things because despite doing good for other people, there's always a want for recognition. For an example, when applying for college applications, you need to recall times when you volunteered and give specific information about it. By colleges expecting us to do volunteer work, it takes out the true value of volunteering in the first place. People should help others because they want to, not because they have to or will get a reward for it.

We think that people put more importance into materialistic stuff rather than humanity. Instead of looking at what someone does and how they act, they'll look at the things that they own or what they don't have. It's more important to people if you have a nice car rather than if you're nice to people.

    1. We think that this is wrong, you shouldn't judge someone's I pittance by the stuff that they own, but rather the person as a whole

  9. We think that people care more about materialistic things than humanity. A lot of people worry more about their prized possessions than worrying about more important things. Everyone cares about their phone/technology like it's their own child.

  10. We think that people place more importance on materialistic things than humanity. We are more afraid of losing our phones than it is to loose a friend because it happens to often. People tend to use money for themselves rather than donating the money to people who really need it.

I think more people place more importance on materialistic things because most people like to see a cool car or new clothes rather than seeing who a person really is. Nowadays many people spend too much time looking down at their phones and other devices rather than the people around them. I personally get frustrated when I am in the cafeteria and want to talk with my friends, but they are too busy playing a mindless game.

We feel like most people would lean more to the side of humanity because if you asked someone if would you rather take a million dollars or save this random person from dying they would choose to save that random person, unless you're and evil person.  But socially, some people would rather sit at home and stare at a computer screen or play video games rather than go out with friends. We agree that we have all had those days that we choose to sit at home and watch tv rather than be with people who want to hang out.

  13. We feel that people put more importance in material items one example is that of Black Friday where people almost kill each other over items that you can buy any day of the year.

  14. I think humans place on material stuff more. The point of having thanksgiving is so that families could gather together and have dinner, but recently, stores would open at 9 o'clock on Thursday night. People would go shopping rather than having dinner with families. This shows that people place more on material stuff more than humanity.

  15. We believe that to some extent people care more for material than a human. You can see this in everyday life during Black Friday. On the news they talk about people getting hurt really badly just because someone wanted the same object.

  16. People today value materialistic things/ objects over humanity. For example, some women today are "gold diggers". What I mean by this is there are women out there who are taking advantage of older men who have money and nice things. They aren't necessarily in the relationship for his personal values and the way he acts but are more in it for the luxuries of cars, clothes, and social status.
